Graduation Day Dressing in 5 Easy Steps

Graduation day is one of the most celebrated milestones in a person’s life. And, like every other milestone, when it comes to celebrating it – a lot of things can go wrong and ruin the planned for precious moments.

To prepare for this…

…here are a few steps you can take to make your graduation celebration an event to remember.

Step 1: Decide on your graduation look early.

Don’t wait until you’re pressed for time to decide on how you would like to look on graduation day. Decide on the dress, the shoes, the hair and makeup, and whether you’re going to get your nails done or not.

When it comes to your overall look, you can avoid potentially awkward moments by checking with your school, your parents, and whoever else that has a say on what you should wear, on what is appropriate.

Step 2: Buy the dress.

Besides being appropriate for the occasion, you need to consider a dress that would be a good match for your toga! Also take into account the venue (Indoors? Outdoors? Air-conditioned? ). Graduation ceremonies aren’t exactly brief. You would want to be comfortable throughout the duration of the program.

Don’t forget to bring pins! Togas can billow in the wind and that would be nice if you were a ship set to sail off into the horizon. If not, you may end up really busy just keeping your toga in place.9_1227070584111908[1]

Step 3: Get the right shoes.

Get shoes that you can walk, stand, sit and pose in for hours without having to endure a lot of pain! You want to be able enjoy the moment – not suffer through it!

Another thing to remember is that, when wearing your cap and gown, the only thing that can be seen of your whole getup at that time will be your shoes … so, do put your best shoes forward.

Step 4: Book your appointment for hair, make-up and nails.

The beauty salons are packed, and I mean packed, during graduation month. It’s even more worrying to think that the better their reputation at prettying you up, the more packed they can get.
To avoid stressing yourself out a few hours before your graduation, make sure you have booked an appointment with your preferred hairdresser and makeup artist beforehand.

Step 5: Top off your getup with your favorite scent!

Wear your favorite fragrance and feel like you’re flying on pixie dust or running through a field of flowers. Or, whatever it is that makes you feel good, summon it with a soft mist bursting out of your perfume or cologne bottle.

A word of caution: this has been said before but needs to be said over and over again – do not smell like you have showered or washed your clothes in your perfume.

3 cellulite-fighting products you can make at home

celluliteCellulite, also known as “orange peel syndrome” and “cottage cheese skin”, is a condition that gives the skin a dimpled, lumpy appearance. It is most often found on the thighs and the buttocks and is more common among women than men.

The causes are still unclear as to how cellulite is formed but some of the theories point to: hormonal factors, genetics, lifestyle, and clothing.

Many cellulite treatments are available in the market but, to date, none of them have support in the scientific or medical community.

And, since commercial anti-cellulite therapies may be pricey yet ineffective, it may a good idea to try out remedies that have been reported to work but won’t wreak havoc on your budget!

Here are three cellulite-busting products that are super easy to make and…
…right in the comfort of your kitchen.

DIY Product #1: Moisturizing Caffeine Scrub

What you need:

1 cup of sugar

2 cups of any of these terrific oils: coconut oil, olive oil, sunflower oil (There are other oils you can use if you do your research!)

1 cup of ground coffee

Between 5 to 15 drops of essential or fragrance oils of your choice

How to make:
  1. Mix all ingredients in a blender and blend away at medium speed.
  2. Once you get an even mixture, your cream is ready to use!
  3. Put in pretty jar and label.
How to use:

Pat yourself half dry with a towel after your shower and then massage your caffeine cream on problem areas. Pay special attention to your tummy, thighs and buttocks. Use every day for best results.

DIY Products #2: InstaCoffee Lotion

What you need:photo1(1)

2 tablespoons of coffee

½ cup of lotion (choose one with a scent that goes well with coffee)

How to make:

Just mix the ingredients together until you get an even consistency. It just can’t get easier than that.

How to use:

Use just like you would any other lotion but, again, paying special attention to problem areas! Of course, if you don’t want to step out of the house smelling of coffee, it may be prudent to stay at home.

DIY Products #3: Massage Oil

What you need:

1 cup of olive or almond oil

3 tablespoon of fennel

3 tablespoon rosemary

3 tablespoons of cayenne powder

1 teaspoon jojoba oil

How to make:

Mix all the ingredients (except the jojoba oil) together in a jar. Make sure the jar lid is tightly closed. Shake the jar at least once daily for at least one week (you can go for two weeks if you like) and, once the base oil looks fairly infused with the other ingredients, use a cheesecloth to strain the oil into a clear container. Add in the jojoba oil to stabilize your mixture.

How to use:

Use as you would any other massage oil but paying attention to your trouble areas.

Now that you have products that you can make at home, don’t forget to also add in having a good diet and regular exercise to minimize the appearance of cellulite.

5 Super Easy Things to Do to Get Sexier Legs and Feel Better

Tip # 1: Get those legs moving and exercise

… are going to say, “We don’t have time to exercise!” Now, let me tell you something you must already know: It’s not true, right? If you have time to watch TV, you have time to exercise. If you have time to party, you have time to exercise. If you have time to go on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube… you have time to exercise!

Here’s some good news, though, for those who don’t want to hit the gym – you don’t have to!

There are things you can do to get those sexy legs going without having to sign up for a gym membership.

Here’s a few:

Walk from the parking lot and back.

Instead of sitting around in a café, go window shopping and walk.  Walk to your colleague’s cubicle some few meters away instead of calling on the phone. Walk the dog.

There are plenty of opportunities to walk. Take advantage of them!

Run around the house, your yard, the grocery store, the airport.

Do these little dashes from here to there – no matter how short the distance – and get your heart rate up even for just a bit.

Dance when you’re happy!

Dance when you’re doing the dishes, the floor, the laundry! Just dance! Dancing is a great way to feel all sexy, expressive, and in the zone.
